Watching BINI Chapter 1: Born to Win was an emotional journey for me. I was deeply moved by the struggles the girls faced on their path to becoming the nation’s girl group. Their story is about more than just talent; it’s a testament to their resilience, heart, and sisterhood.
Joanna truly shines as a leader. She held it together through thick and thin, guiding the group with grace. Mika may seem strong, but I couldn’t help but notice her emotional side—she’s a bit of a crybaby, and that only made me love her more. Then there’s Maloi, who fills me with pride. She’s grown so much, and it really shows.
Gwen deserves special recognition. Performing at the concert while sick took incredible strength, and she powered through, demonstrating her dedication and commitment. Colet, the all-rounder, continues to amaze me with her versatility, while Stacy brings such energy and joy to the group—I’m really proud of her!
One moment that truly touched my heart was Sheena’s story. Losing her mom during the pandemic without getting closure is heartbreaking. I feel for her deeply and admire her for pushing through despite that immense pain.
Aiah’s struggles with anxiety are also relatable. Her choice not to always open up is completely valid; anxiety can be overwhelming, and sometimes, sharing too much feels risky. I’m just glad she was able to perform at the concert and overcome her challenges. I’m proud of her and all the girls.
The shutdown of ABS-CBN was a tough time for many, including BINI. Even though they didn’t have a large fanbase yet, it was heartening to see the unwavering support from those who believed in them. The fact that people stood by them despite the challenges speaks volumes about their potential. It’s this kind of faith that has helped them rise above adversity and continue to shine.
All eight of them—Joanna, Mika, Maloi, Gwen, Colet, Stacy, Sheena, and Aiah—have shown incredible strength and unity. Watching their humble beginnings makes me proud, not just of them, but also of everyone who believed in them, especially Direk Lauren Dyogi. Their passion, hard work, and the support around them have shaped who they are today.
I’ll keep cheering them on as they reach new heights. They are truly born to win.
